The delegates adopted the orientations which will guide the actions of the FIQ over the next three years.

As the head of a union representing more than 176,000 members, from nine Canadian provinces, Linda Silas, President of the Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions (CFNU), stated that her members have the same problems as the healthcare professionals at the FIQ.

On this third day of the Convention, the Groupe TAC com, specialists in “théâtre à la carte” (Impro theatre) and client-specific interventions, presented the delegation with very interesting dramatic production.

Dr. Michel Henry Brutus presented the organization that he founded in 1986, the ONG Health Education Learning Resources Projects (H.E.L.P.) to the delegation. The funds collected from the unions and the members of the FIQ to assist the Haitian people was given to H.E.L.P. whose main mission is to develop and install projects that can improve the quality of life for the most vulnerable groups in the rural communities of Haiti.

Stephanie Bloomingdale, Secretary-Treasurer of the AFL-CIO, an important union player in the United States, talked to the delegates of the FIQ about the current battle being waged in Wisconsin for the rights of the State workers.

Hosted by the journalist, Françoise Guénette, this panel joined two previous members of the Executive Committee and two activists with the Federation to discuss their professional and personal path with the delegates.
