Another victory for the Bas-Saint-Laurent healthcare professionals

After the Syndicat des professionnelles en soins infirmiers et cardio-respiratoires du Bas-Saint-Laurent (FIQ) filed 40 grievances, the employer agreed to pay healthcare professionals time-and-a-half for training sessions, if their hours met the criteria for overtime.

“Over 330 members received retroactive pay, from as far back as April 2016, for training time that was added to their regular work day or week, as stipulated in the provincial collective agreement. We are very pleased to have waged this battle to ensure their rights are respected,” said Aline Boucher, interim president of the union’s Transitional Executive Committee.
