Last week, members of the FIQ and FIQP provincial Youth Committee participated in the Youth Action Meeting at the Québec National Assembly. Created from a partnership between the Secrétariat à la jeunesse and Force Jeunesse, our three young elected members who attended built a file on the working conditions of young healthcare professionals and presented it to the different public office holders, including Québec ministers and MNA’s. These exchanges showed these elected officials the importance of changing things! The committee members chose to present the impacts from the deterioration of their working conditions on attraction and retention of manpower as well as the difficulty in work-family-study balance. ¸
These three days of meetings and training had a significant impact on their path as young union representatives. It was a unique opportunity to make a real political representation on behalf of the young healthcare professionals they represent.
