My name is Joëlle Bilodeau. I am 40 years old and have been a licensed practical nurse working in the operating room for 7 years. I started my career at the CHUM Hôtel-Dieu and overspecialized in cardiac surgery. I have been working in the operating room at the Hôpital Notre-Dame for a year now. After I decided to change institutions, my union beliefs got even stronger! Our current conditions made me question whether this career was still right for me. So, I am in the running to become a local representative at the SPSS and, from now on, I will work on the Task and Organization of Work mandate. I am increasingly happy in my new role and am very eager to ramp up my involvement, to have the chance to defend our members and do more in the years to come.
All of this has motivated me to run again, with great enthusiasm, in order to learn more about how the FIQ works. I think it’s a great springboard for easing into my first mandate as a substitute on the Election Committee.
