The FIQ-SPSSODIM union in action on May 9th, 2018 at the CIUSSS ODIM Board of director’s meeting
On May 9th, 2018, representatives of the union attended the CIUSSS ODIM Board of directors meeting. Various concerns of the members of the union were addressed.
Francine Sigouin, VP RLT, brought up that our members informed the union of numerous errors occurring on the pay since the implementation of the Logibec computer system and that the employees were still waiting for the corrections to be done.
Elizabeth Rich, VP Health and Safety, asked the board how the employer will follow-up on the recent arbitration decision at Centre d’Hébergement Denis Benjamin Viger. The decision obliges the employer to implement many measures to improve working conditions and the quality of care.
Johanne Riendeau, President, expressed to the board that the FIQ-SPSSODIM is currently in local negotiations with the employer. She mentioned that the union has real solutions to problems such as the auto sufficiency project, which is designed to stabilise care teams and reduce the workload. She asked the board they support such initiatives that contribute to safe quality care.
The intent of expressing such concerns is to help the members of they board of directors to develop a better awareness of issues of importance to our organisation and our members. Be assured that the union has the intention of always attending CIUSSS ODIM board meetings to address problems experienced by our members.
