Local negotiations: time for the CEO to intervene

The CISSS de l’Outaouais is the only employer in the health network that has not yet reached a tentative agreement on local matters with any of its labour organizations. It’s time for the employer to assume its responsibility to the public and get things moving!

    In an interview on October 3, given during your annual information tour, you stated that you were open to citizen and health network stakeholder proposals to improve public services. You also said that CISSSO employees would have access to coaching and support measures to promote professional development and increase staff retention.

    However, while other CISSSs and CIUSSSs have assumed their responsibility to the public and shown a commitment to their employees, the CISSS de l’Outaouais is the only health network employer that hasn’t reached a tentative agreement on local matters with any of its labour organizations.

    Furthermore, it has come to my attention that no measures have been implemented to prevent an exodus of nurses, LPNs and respiratory therapists to Ontario, another region, or their home region. Under these circumstances, how can we expect to continue to be able to provide quality care in a safe environment to the Outaouais public

    For these reasons, I support the nurses, LPNs and respiratory therapists who are members of the FIQ - Syndicat des professionnelles en soins de l’Outaouais. I ask you, Mr. Hébert, to intervene as CEO in the local negotiations in order to reach a negotiated agreement and ensure that respectable and satisfactory working conditions be implemented for the healthcare professionals at the CISSS de l’Outaouais.
