Your health and your physical and psychological well-being

Make it your priority!

As an occupational health and safety representative, I am fortunate to be able to help many healthcare professionals. It is a privilege because, thanks to the confidence that these professionals have in me, I am learning a lot.

However, I must admit that sometimes I am discouraged to notice to what extent healthcare professionals neglect their own health.

If you find yourself on a period of disability, take care of yourself! Be proactive, whatever the cause of your disability. Inform your employer as soon as possible and complete the internal incident report if it is a work accident. And also consult a physician quickly, be informed and be sure to obtain the care and treatment required by your physical and psychological health condition as quickly as possible. Do not hesitate to contact your local union occupational health and safety representative for advice on the administrative part; she can support you in the process.

Whether or not there is a contestation in your case, a disagreement between your attending physician and the employer’s physician, your priority should above all be your physical and psychological well-being. Devote your energy to recovering your health, because no one else can do it for you!

Do you know ?

If you witness any act of workplace violence, we encourage you to denounce it to your employer as soon as possible and to support the victim by all the necessary and appropriate means.

Did you know that the FIQ collective agreement stipulates that the employer must offer his staff a safe work environment free of any form of violence? Your employer must have a policy and a procedure for dealing with complaints of violence and harassment. Contact your local union team if you think you are exposed to workplace violence.

Did you know that if you are a victim of workplace violence, your local union team is equipped to accompany you through the process of resolving this unacceptable situation?
