Status of Women Committee

CIUSSS du Nord-de-l'Île-de-Montréal (FIQ – Syndicat des professionnelles en soins du Nord-de-l’Île-de-Montréal)

As a mother of 3 children age 7, 10 and 12, I face the challenges of balancing union involvement and work-family life every day. We have to be the leaders and show that work-family balance is a key factor.

The committee is the best place to learn and share status of women issues, but also to focus on the fact that equality and equity are not always achieved.

I feel that greater involvement and representativeness can be achieved by setting up mentorship, training and consciousness-raising so that all women can surpass the obstacles holding them back and preventing them from taking their rightful place.

I hope to have a positive influence on the committee’s work with my authenticity, enthusiasm and experience and thus promote proactive and inclusive feminism.

I am convinced that the best option for reaching our common goal is the active involvement of everyone in good conscious, respect and openness which characterizes the FIQ members.
Thank you for your support!
