Ratio pilot project announcement in Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean

As part of a tour in Saguenay – Lac-Saint-Jean, FIQ President Nancy Bédard, along with FIQ-SPSSLJ President Julie Bouchard, officially announced the healthcare professional-to-patient ratio pilot project in the Bagotville CHSLD.

“This ratio project is one of the first three to be announced. Today, we can now say that the first kickoff meeting will be held on Thursday, May 17. It’s a major project in a CHSLD which includes 55 beds across three floors. This is a very important step for us and we are very proud,” said FIQ President Nancy Bédard.

“We are very pleased about this announcement. The FIQ has been fighting to implement healthcare professional-to-patient ratios for years. It is a solution that we put forward in order to ensure safe patient care while reducing our members’ excessive workload. It’s thanks to the FIQ’s work that our region is getting its first ratio pilot project,” said Julie Bouchard,

“Alongside the experts from the FIQ and the Health Ministry, we will supervise the ratio projects. Our long-term goal is to implement healthcare professional-to-patient ratios throughout the whole health network,” explained Nancy Bédard.
