COVID-19 – New decree from the Legault government: extension of the 8% premium to home care
For the FIQ, this is a bittersweet victory. The pressure applied by the Federation since the beginning of the public health crisis has made extending the 8% premium decreed by the government to a greater number of healthcare professionals possible.
However, this recognition is still not enough and poorly reflects the reality of the situation all members of the FIQ are facing. In a context of sustained community transmission, all healthcare professionals are affected in both their professional practice and personal lives by the extreme impact of the conditions they must practice in.
The FIQ will continue to apply pressure on the government demanding the recognition of the outstanding contribution and commitment of respiratory therapists, nurses, licensed practical nurses and clinical perfusionists that they fully deserve.
