FIQ (Fédération Interprofessionnelle de la santé du Québec)

Julie Côté

Comité de négociation

CISSS de la Montérégie-Centre

Elected the first time in 2010 as Respiratory Therapist VP, I have always been committed to defending our rights and working conditions. Through the various mandates and files, I have had the opportunity to learn more about the issues and fields of competence of each of the healthcare professionals’ job titles.

Over time, I have participated in three rounds of negotiations as a union rep and several battles waged by the FIQ such as IL, MOT and the PPPs.

I have been the grievance agent since 2017 and this experience has helped me to understand the application and interpretation of the collective agreement texts.

It is now time for me to increase my involvement and build on those 12 years of union activism. The saying goes that you need to know where you come from to know where you are going, added to listening to the members and their wishes in order to improve our working conditions, I want to work for our members to go for gains that will be acceptable to them.
