It’s now time to hear what healthcare professionals have to say!

Marked by the health crisis, the last years have been difficult for all of us. There was a steady flow of conflicting recommendations from public health, changing guidelines from the Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CNESST), and inconsistent or incomplete guidelines from employers. And, despite their resilience and mobilization, a number of healthcare professionals came out of this battle against COVID-19 exhausted, sick, hurt and some even died.

The pandemic and numerous occupational health and safety related concerns have shown the scale of the issues they face and that it’s important they are able to voice their opinions and make denunciations and demands. Therefore, the slogan for the 2022 Occupational Health and Safety Week is “Healthcare professionals: resilient and mobilized.”

Healthcare professionals are in the best position to identify the risks in their workplace. And yet, they are rarely listened to and heard. How the pandemic played out is a good example. In the 2022 OHS Week brochure, you will find different strategies for enabling healthcare professionals to speak up and take a stand in the prevention of OHS risks.
