elections will be held at the federal council on December 8, 9 and 10, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The Negotiating Committee is up for election and will be composed of 7 members and substitutes.<\/p>\n<p>Interested candidates have until the opening of the federal council on December 8, 2026, at noon to submit their applications.<\/p>\n<p>Rules around election ads stipulated in css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h3>How to become a candidate<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>All applications must be submitted via the FIQ website.<\/li>\n<li>Applications must come through the form provided for this purpose, signed by the candidate, seconded by two members in good standing with a FIQ affiliated union, and accompanied by a duly signed declaration of the member\u2019s good standing.<\/li>\n<li>All applications must include an introductory text (180 words max.) and a photo (4&#215;6 portrait-style digital photo).<\/li>\n<li>The Election Committee has a 48-hour period, following the FIQ\u2019s opening office hours, to confirm reception of the application and eligibility of the candidate.<\/li>\n<li>The candidate must have submitted their application and received approval from the Election Committee before beginning their election campaign.<\/li>\n<li>They will have three (3) minutes to give their presentation at the December federal
