J\u00e9r\u00f4me Rousseau<\/h1>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]J\u00e9r\u00f4me Rousseau was first elected in December 2017 as vice-president on the Executive Committee of the F\u00e9d\u00e9ration interprofessionnelle de la sant\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec\u2013FIQ. He is the political officer for the Organization of Work and Professional Practice and Negotiation Sectors.<\/p>\n

A union activist for nearly 20 years, J\u00e9r\u00f4me Rousseau is driven by a deep desire to improve the working and practice conditions of healthcare professionals so they can offer safe, humane care. He also fights for full recognition of the expertise of each of the professions the organization represents and is particularly interested in AI, which is increasingly present in the health network.<\/p>\n

For several years, he has been strongly advocating for better healthcare professional-to-patient ratios in the health network. Engaged and determined to see the professional, family and personal lives of nurses, licensed practical nurses, respiratory therapists and clinical perfusionists improve, he has also played an active role in the last two provincial negotiations with the Quebec government.<\/p>\n

Before being elected to the FIQ Executive Committee, Mr. Rousseau took on several union roles. He held a number of positions in the Syndicat interprofessionnel de la sant\u00e9 de l\u2019Institut universitaire de cardiologie et de pneumologie de Qu\u00e9bec, including that of assistant grievance agent, grievance agent, and from 2009 to 2016, that of president. A nurse clinician by profession, he has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Universit\u00e9 Laval.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
