Remember that, in a last-ditch effort to get the FIQ and the government to reach an agreement, the conciliator called the parties to an intensive bargaining session on September 4. In the end, and faced with <strong>impossibility of reconciliation<\/strong>, the conciliator took the decision of his own accord to <strong>submit a recommendation<\/strong> that he considered to be a <strong>balanced proposal<\/strong> for the parties.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A referendum vote in mid October<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Following the presentation of the conciliator\u2019s recommendation, your delegates agreed to <strong>present<\/strong> it to the members in a <strong>referendum vote which will be held from 8 pm on October 15 to 8 pm on October 17<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The details on the voting process will be sent to you over the next few days. This process will be very similar to the one used for the previous referendum vote. Keep your eyes peeled.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Find out about the content of the recommendation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Over the next few weeks, your union representatives will be holding <strong>information general assemblies <\/strong>to present to you the content of the recommendation on the renewal of your working conditions. It is very important to participate, as it is the best place to obtain accurate and truthful information.
