Youcef Tiab
Comité permanent Antiracisme
Institut de Cardiologie de Montréal
I was born in Algeria, and I arrived in Quebec in 2008. After obtaining my DEC in nursing at Cégep de Maisonneuve, I began my nursing career at the Montreal Heart Institute in 2012. As a member of the SPICICM executive committee since March 2023, I am committed to defending workers’ rights and fighting injustice. Within the union, I hold the position of Vice-President, nursing, in charge of occupational health and safety (OHS) and disability files. I ensure that the rights of our members in vulnerable situations are fully respected. As a member of a visible minority myself, joining the standing Anti-Racism Committee would allow me to speak out on behalf of those who do not always have the opportunity to denounce what they experience on a daily basis.
