Results of the consultation on a strike fund
At the Convention in June 2025, your union representatives gave the Federation a mandate to organize a member consultation. The purpose: evaluate your interest and needs in setting up a strike fund at the FIQ.
To fulfill this mandate, an online consultation was set up from August 11 to September 14, 2025. You had the opportunity to complete this survey to give your opinion on the different conditions which could make up a strike fund at the FIQ.
A big thank you to the 3,530 among you who participated in this consultation which enabled a clear picture to be drawn up which was presented to the delegates at the Federal Council. As a result, 54% of respondents spoke out against creating a strike fund at the FIQ. The majority also wanted to avoid the introduction of a special dues assessment.
Moreover, strategic reflections carried out on this issue tend to show that the solidarity pact remains the compensation tool best adapted to the healthcare professionals’ realities in a context of essential services. Therefore, your representatives agreed to stop all work related to creating a strike fund. Your responses to the consultation remain valuable and will contribute to the deliberations of affiliated unions and the Federation on improving the solidarity pact.
