Karine Pépin

Vice-president (Sociopolitical, Status of Women, Solidarity)

CIUSSS de la Mauricie et du Centre du Québec

Dear union representatives,

It is with pride and a deep sense of commitment that I am announcing my running for the position of vice-president (Sociopolitical, Status of Women, Solidarity) on the FIQ Executive Committee. My experience within the Federation has helped me to understand the issues we are facing. I would like to put my experience and skills to work for the organization.

I am committed to defending our members’ rights, improving our working conditions, and promoting solidarity. As vice-president, I promise to encourage listening and transparency and to actively work to advance our priorities.

As a healthcare professional, every day I work with people in vulnerable situations, who are often neglected by the healthcare system. This demanding profession has helped me see the importance of guaranteeing equitable, quality access for each person. I fight every day so that everyone can receive the medical attention they deserve with dignity.

It is essential that we defend fundamental rights like free access to care, medical treatment and prevention. The fight against social inequality is a priority: it is our duty to fight to eliminate injustice.

I strongly believe that collaborating with community organizations and key actors working for societal change are crucial to improving the well-being of the most vulnerable. Promoting and protecting their rights, whether related to health, psychological support, or other areas, is at the core of my commitment. It is about justice, equality and dignity.

In this time of so many challenges, unity is our greatest strength. Together, we must double our efforts to defend our rights and advance our battles. Faced with political uncertainty, we must be bold, consistent and determined in continuing to make our voices heard.

In working together with conviction and engagement, we will achieve our goals.
