Pascal Beaulieu
Pascal Beaulieu is vice-president, in the position reserved for a nurse, on the Executive Committee of the Fédération interprofessionnelle de la santé du Québec–FIQ. He is the political officer for the Research and Legal teams and joint political officer for the Labour Relations Sector.
He has been a union rep for nearly 25 years with a particular passion for labour relations and negotiations. As a first-hand witness to the countless reforms in the health network and their consequences, he is motivated by the desire to have a positive impact on the professional and personal lives of nurses, licensed practical nurses, respiratory therapists and clinical perfusionists. Defending their rights and professions are at the heart of his union engagement.
His union activism has taken different shapes in recent years. In addition to his union role in his healthcare institution, he has sat on various federal committees and was a member of the Negotiating Committee for the last round of negotiations with the Quebec government.
He graduated from the nursing program at the CÉGEP de Rivière-du-Loup in 1995. He completed a certificate in community health and a short program in emergency care at the Université du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR). He has worked at the Hôpital de l’Enfant-Jésus in Quebec City since 2001. Before he arrived at the FIQ, he was the vice-president of labour relations at the Syndicat interprofessionnel du SICHU de Québec.
