Alexandre Bourdages
Youth Committee
CIUSSS de l'Estrie - Centre Hosp. Univ. de Sherbrooke
Dear union representatives,
I am Alexandre Bourdages, an Emergency Room nurse in Granby. I’m running for the Youth Committee because I consider myself a good campaigner and a good person for rallying people.
I previously worked in the Gaspé, Montréal and Outaouais, in medical, surgical and emergency units, as well as in vaccination centres.
I have already taken the initiative, during the negotiations last winter, to bring a BBQ to the demonstrations in front of my hospital to warm up members and to toast marshmallows. All of this when I wasn’t yet a FIQ member, as I was working for an agency.
In the past, I assumed the role of delegate for mobilization in my student association. I organized demonstrations and activist actions. This experience taught me a lot about power and counter-power in politics.
As a member of the Youth Committee, it will be my pleasure to analyze the needs of our members, define them and establish ways of bringing about change through member involvement and raising public awareness.
