Amélie Barrette – Elected
Status of Women Committee
CIUSSS du Saguenay - Lac-Saint-Jean
Hello everyone!
Let me introduce myself.
I am a mother of 4, I’ve been an active union rep for nearly 13 years, and I am intense and don’t do anything halfway.
I have always been passionate about feminism. My work on the various Federation committees has made my passion even stronger.
The last few years have been difficult for the committee: cancelled meetings, action plan and guidelines put on hold. Their continuity is important to me and will help the Federation make great progress. I’m very concerned about the rise of the right, so it will be imperative to have a strong committee and a strong, united and inclusive Federation. I want our work to benefit both the delegates and our members; a confident woman will take her place both in front of a decision-making body and in front of the employer, and a confident woman will say no to all an employer’s crazy demands.
I am asking you to renew my mandate so that I can continue to represent and involve all women, whoever they may be, not to mention our allies who provide us with invaluable support.
