Amélie Barrette [Elected]

Status of Women Committee

CIUSSS du Saguenay - Lac-Saint-Jean

Dear union reps,

I have been active at the FIQ for 7 years. I started as a nurse representative at the IRDPQ and then joined the youth and status of women committee at the office at the Alma hospital where I have now been a full time agent for three years.

I was elected to the provincial FIQ Status of Women Committee in 2017. During this mandate, I had three children and as such was unable to achieve everything I wanted to. That is why, with my family complete, I am seeking a second mandate. I believe it is important, even with young children, to continue to fight for and defend these values. Work-family balance must become a priority for our employer, but also between affiliates to enable the many parents in the delegation to fight to improve our working conditions.

Thank you for your trust and support!
