Anti-Racism Committee

CIUSSS de l'Ouest-de-l'Île-de-Montréal

Hello everyone,

I am from Ghana, in West Africa, and I immigrated to Quebec with my parents 37 years ago. As someone who is a visible minority, I have seen how racism, either subtle or direct, can influence a workplace culture. These experiences affect our sense of safety, trust and belonging, and can undermine our ability to fully get involved.

I would like to bring my professional experience of over 20 years as a nurse clinician, with a sincere commitment to learning and collaboration, to identify the issues, raise awareness, and propose concrete solutions. I believe that through dialogue, training and collective action, we can strengthen equity within our union and build a more inclusive work environment.

To me, this committee represents an opportunity to contribute to positive change and to defend the values of equity and compassion that all healthcare professionals deserve.
