Julie Daignault – Elected
Respiratory therapist vice-president (OHS, HR, Social Security)
CISSS des Laurentides
FIQ colleagues,
Since 1992, I have had the privilege of carrying out my profession, both in urban and regional settings, in almost every field. I know the issues, the challenges, and the importance of this profession.
My union career also reflects my investment in various mandates: union representative, administrator on the UHCP Board of Directors, regional union with several certifications, and president of the FIQ-SPSL since its creation.
In this respect, at the regional level, in my role as president, it is my job to know all of the files my team of over 30 union reps worked on, and to deal with an ill-reputed employer. I defended the black book at every political level. I have also fought for respiratory therapists to remain at the FIQ.
At the provincial level, selected by the FIQ on the raiding team in 2014, I worked closely with SOS, as well as several services and sectors. More recently, I was elected to the Strategic Coordination Committee regarding Bill 15.
I experienced the 2005-2015-2025 reforms. I’ve been involved in union struggles for the recognition of healthcare professionals’ rights and the transformation of unions and our unionism. I have gotten involved in all areas (RLT, OHS, OWPP, mobilization, communication and media, Status of Women, etc.) I learned a lot.
Today, this passion and enthusiasm for collective well-being continue to drive me to defend a universal public healthcare system and, above all, the conditions in which healthcare professionals carry out their work. I have decided to run to make my voice heard and to represent you.
I’m honest, reliable, patient, a good listener and I know how to adapt to the challenges and files under my responsibility. My solution-oriented approach, sense of organization and responsibility are qualities that enhance my ability to adapt.
I therefore have a wealth of experience that makes me an ideal candidate for the position of Vice-President, Respiratory Therapist, on the FIQ Executive Committee, and I am ready to devote myself to the issues assigned to this role.
I assure you of my commitment, my willingness to listen, and my determination to ensure that the FIQ remains united for its 80,000 members.
Seconded by:
