Marie-Denise Guillaume

Anti-Racism Committee

CIUSSS du Nord-de-l'Île-de-Montréal

My name is Marie-Denise Guillaume. I was born in Belgium to a Haitian father and a  Ghanaian-Congolese mother and I have lived in Québec for 30 years. I embody a rich cultural heritage that shaped my world view of social justice from an early age. As a mother of three children, I am committed to passing on to them the values of respect, solidarity and justice that guide my every action.

As a licensed practical nurse, I dedicate myself every day to providing humane, attentive and compassionate care. My work has led me to meet people from all walks of life and to witness, sometimes painfully, the inequalities that still persist in our society. These experiences have strengthened my conviction that the fight against racism and discrimination is not only necessary, but urgent.

It’s this conviction that drives me today to put forward my candidacy for the Anti-Racism Standing Committee. I wish to use my experience, sensitivity and commitment to promote racial equality and defend the dignity of every individual.
