Let’s mobilize on February 20 to defend the social safety net

21 January 2026

On World Day of Social Justice on February 20, actions will take place across Québec to denounce the dismantling of the social safety net and highlight the importance of strong and accessible public services.

For too long, public services and social programs have been weakened by chronic underfunding. This weakening undermines the social safety net and compromises access to essential services.

At the urging of the Coalition Main Rouge, groups and organizations from all walks of life are invited to take action on February 20.

Each group can choose the form of action that suits it best: visibility campaigns, symbolic occupations, local initiatives or other collective actions. Every action counts.

To give the mobilization provincial reach, participating groups and individuals are invited to register their actions via the link below. This registration will enable us to coordinate initiatives, relay regional issues and support local communications.
