FIQ presidency: Julie Bouchard re-elected president

Québec, le 5 June 2025 — Gathered at the hybrid convention in Quebec City from June 2 to 6, the delegates of the Fédération interprofessionnelle de la santé du Québec–FIQ re-elected by a majority Julie Bouchard as president of the Federation.

“It is with pride and determination, but also much humility, that I accept this second term the delegates are entrusting to me. Over the next four years, I will continue to represent the voice of nurses, licensed practical nurses, respiratory therapists and clinical perfusionists, who make up the very heart of the health network. Together, we will turn the gains we obtained in negotiations into concrete improvements to their working and practice conditions. We will continue to fight for the implementation of safe ratios, full recognition of healthcare professionals’ expertise, and a public network that is accessible to everyone. As we experience reforms, budget cuts and centralization, our mobilization is needed now more than ever. Together, we will be an unstoppable force defending the rights of healthcare professionals, supporting their colleagues, and advancing the place of women,” declared Julie Bouchard, FIQ President.

The new Executive Committee’s priorities include deploying the collective agreement signed in December 2024, implementing safe ratios, union mobilization, addressing budget cuts in the health network, and closely monitoring the roll out of Santé Québec.

The FIQ Executive Committee will also consist of:

  • Françoise Ramel, Vice-President
  • Nathalie Lévesque, Vice-President
  • Pascal Beaulieu, Vice-President (newly elected)
  • Sébastien Bouchard, Vice-President (newly elected)
  • Julie Daignault, Vice-President (newly elected)
