Françoise Ramel

Since 2022, Françoise Ramel has been vice-president at the Fédération interprofessionnelle de la santé du Québec–FIQ. She is the political officer for the Sociopolitical Sector, joint political officer for the Status of Women Sector and officer for the Solidarity component.

She has been a union activist for over 10 years and actively fights to defend the rights of healthcare professionals and for access to quality public services. Driven by principles of social justice and equity, she defends the organization’s initiatives through the prism of women’s determinants of health. She represents the Federation through diverse groups and coalitions, including the Intersyndicale des femmes, Centre international de solidarité ouvrière (where she sits on the board of directors), and the Council on the Status of Women.

With a degree in nursing, she has over 30 years of experience in the healthcare sector, first in France and then in Quebec. She began her union involvement in 2017 as head of the care, organization of work and status of women committees before being elected vice-president nurse and then president of the Syndicat des professionnelles en soins du Centre-Sud-de-l’Île-de-Montréal.
