Julie Daignault

Julie Daignault is the respiratory therapist vice-president on the Executive Committee of the Fédération interprofessionnelle de la santé du Québec–FIQ. Among other things, she is the political officer for the Occupational Health and Safety Sector and the insurance component of the Social Security Sector.

As a first-hand witness to the consequences of healthcare institution mergers, she is well positioned to understand the challenges and needs that such upheavals create for nurses, licensed practical nurses, respiratory therapists and clinical perfusionists.

She is constantly seeking solutions to improve the quality and safety of care provided to the public, to which she devotes a great deal of energy. She is passionate about defending a universal public healthcare system and constantly improving the working conditions and practices of healthcare professionals.

An active unionist since 1999, before joining the FIQ Executive Committee, she was president of the FIQ-Syndicat des professionnelles en soins des Laurentides.
