Sébastien Bouchard
Sébastien Bouchard is vice-president on the Executive Committee of the Fédération interprofessionnelle de la santé du Québec–FIQ. He is the political officer for the Union Organizing and Education-Animation Services.
An engaged union rep for years, he has witnessed several periods of changing union allegiance, mergers and the many effects of the laws passed by successive governments. Determined to see the working and practice conditions of nurses, licensed practical nurses, respiratory therapists and clinical perfusionists improved, he sat on the FIQ’s Negotiating Committee in 2019. One of his top priorities is proximity to members. His motto is to educate, train, communicate and mobilize.
A nurse since 2002 at the Institut universitaire de cardiologie et de pneumologie de Québec – Université Laval (IUCPQ-UL), Sébastien Bouchard has taken on several union roles before he was elected to the FIQ Executive Committee. First as vice-president, labour relations, at the Syndicat interprofessionnel de la santé (SIIQ) de l’IUCPQ, then as president since 2016.
