Julie Bouchard
President
CIUSSS du Saguenay - Lac-Saint-Jean
Dear colleagues,
I have had the honour of representing you as the president of the FIQ since 2021. This role is demanding, often confrontational, but always deeply meaningful. It’s a privilege to be here with you, and an immense responsibility to speak on behalf of tens of thousands of healthcare professionals. Despite the turmoil, the challenges, the tough negotiations and the reforms that are rocking our network, I’m still standing by your side. Because our professions deserve to be defended with courage, thoroughness and determination. Today, I am confirming my candidacy for a second term. To continue this essential work. To continue our battles. And to make our collective voice heard again and again.
We are facing major reforms that are radically redefining our network. The Dubé reform, in particular, threatens our autonomy, centralizes decisions and undermines our working conditions. In this context, our union must remain a key, influential, vigilant and organized player. Whether you are an EPC, CISSS, CIUSSS or even a non-merged institution, my priority is to representer you and each of your realities.
Over the last few years, I have worked to strengthen our power to act and to build a presidency that listens, takes action and is rooted in feminist and union struggles. Defending a profession that a predominantly female profession in a system that makes us invisible also means defending a fairer, more equitable society, in which recognition of women’s work becomes the focal point.
I wanted to be a president close to you, sensitive to your realities, transparent in my actions and true to our values. This proximity will remain my compass. I strongly believe that our strength lies in our solidarity and our mobilization. For the next four years, I will continue to take responsibility for decisions and my decisions will be my own. I’m also going to remain the one who brings people together and persists in saying loud and clear what we demand: respect, better conditions and the power to influence our environment.
Because for me, getting together is a start, staying together is progress, working together is success.
That’s why I’m asking you once again to place your trust in me.
In Solidarity,
Seconded by:
