GA on a strike vote in October : the employer party must seriously review its offers

Since the last Info-Négo, your Negotiating Committee as spent several days a week at the bargaining table with the employer representatives. It has continued to hammer home that the healthcare professionals’ demands are the right solutions to resolve the health network’s problems. Although the government seems to be aware of the day-to-day reality, the solutions that it proposes are very different, and sometimes even the opposite of what your representatives are promoting.

There is a long way to go to bring the parties closer together, and no settlement will be possible without the employer seriously reassessing its positions. At this stage, a strike, which is the ultimate pressure tactic, appears inevitable, as the employer’s current offers are simply unacceptable.

Over the next few weeks, your local union team will hold general assemblies for you to express your opinion on whether or not to hold a strike The Common Front (CSQ, CSN, APTS and FTQ) is carrying out the same exercise with its members. Don’t forget that the main objective of all this mobilization is to demonstrate to the government that the healthcare professionals are behind their Negotiating Committee so that it can seek a settlement worthy of the name.

So, in summary, for the month of October:

  • Presentation of a progress report on negotiations to your union representatives.
  • Local general assemblies.
  • Electronic vote for a strike mandate.

Find out more from your union team and attend the general assemblies coming in October. Your mobilization and that of your colleagues are essential. This will enable your Negotiating Committee to break the deadlock in the discussions at the Table.
